I changed careers from law to education because I believe that every student, everywhere, every day deserves a great education and a great teacher! As a first-generation college graduate and a person of color, I am thankful that an educator saw my potential and opened my eyes to the importance of an education. As a teacher for predominantly English language learners, I saw firsthand how I made a difference in students’ lives by being an effective educator. Public Impact’s mission of dramatically improving education for students of color and for students whose needs historically have not been well met drew me to this position.”

Consultant
Liz Allard is a consultant with Public Impact®, focused primarily on assisting schools and districts with Opportunity Culture® design and implementation to extend the reach of excellent teachers and their teams. Before joining the team, Allard served as a school administrator for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where she led teaching teams to achieve high academic success with students who had been designated as low-performing. Prior to serving as a middle school administrator, Allard taught science and social studies, guiding predominantly English language learners to exceed academic growth in both subjects, which led to being named as a finalist for district teacher of the year. She received a law degree from Western New England University, a master’s certificate in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an M.Ed. from John Hopkins University, and a B.S. in sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
