Senior Analytics Consultant
Mr. Faulk is a senior analytics consultant with Public Impact, conducting quantitative research and statistical analyses of schools, with a focus on alternative accountability, data visualization, and analytics. Before joining Public Impact, Mr. Faulk designed and taught courses in pure and applied mathematics at Duke TIP and served as a university math tutor. He holds a master’s degree in operations research and a bachelor’s of science with distinction and highest honors in mathematics and mathematical decision sciences, all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Example projects: Using tools including Excel, Tableau, R, Drupal, and Google Apps Script, Mr. Faulk’s data visualization and analytics work focuses on three key areas: alternative charter school accountability, Opportunity Culture implementation, and program evaluation. In charter school policy, he conducts research on the charter school application pipeline and school model diversity, and he consults with authorizers on school accountability frameworks. Recent projects include a longitudinal nationwide analysis of Charter Restarts as a school improvement strategy and ongoing tracking/analysis of COVID-19 district reopening policies in North Carolina for EdNC. For Opportunity Culture, he leads the annual Opportunity Culture School Climate Survey, assists in development and maintenance of the Opportunity Culture School Excellence Portal, and helped implement a pilot of Remotely Located Multi-Classroom Leadership.
