Senior Consultant
Okema Owens Simpson is a senior consultant with Public Impact, focused primarily on leading Opportunity Culture school design and implementation support teams in schools. Before joining Public Impact, Owens Simpson served as a new teacher support coach with the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program. In this role, she coached a team of teachers within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Cleveland County Schools to use the best instructional practices and pedagogy. She previously served in the Multi-Classroom Leader role at Ranson Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she led a team of English teachers to double–digit reading percentile growth each year. Owens Simpson holds an M.A. in educational leadership from Gardner Webb University and a B.A. in middle school English language arts, and social studies from North Carolina State University.
