Dr. Hauser is a senior consultant with Public Impact, assisting schools to extend the reach of excellent teachers through Opportunity Culture implementation. Dr. Hauser focuses on Public Impact’s work in the areas of teacher residency and early literacy. Before joining Public Impact, Dr. Hauser was a professional development associate at the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET) at Stanford University, where she focused on professional learning for classroom teachers, instructional coaching, and leadership development for teacher-leaders and school administrators. While at Stanford, Dr. Hauser served as co-director of the Protocol for Language Arts Teacher Observation (PLATO) project, training international research teams on the PLATO classroom observation tool. She also led research teams studying high-leverage teaching practices for project-based learning and practice-focused teacher professional development. Dr. Hauser began her career as an eighth-grade humanities teacher and literacy coach in Charlotte, N.C., and New York, N.Y. Dr. Hauser holds a B.A. in English and romance languages from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master’s degree in teaching from Pace University, a master’s degree in leadership for educational change from Bank Street College of Education, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and teacher education from Stanford University.
