Senior Analyst
Mr. Smith is an senior analyst with Public Impact, collecting, analyzing, and communicating data and research on education topics, and supporting the data analytics team. Before joining Public Impact, he gained experience as a research assistant and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow for the UNC School of Education, studying resource allocation for minority students. Mr. Smith spent two summers as a mathematics teaching assistant and counselor at the North Carolina Governor’s School, helping teach college-level math and coordinating programs to promote academic and cultural engagement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics and analytics, with minors in education and mathematics, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also received the J. Maryon Saunders Award, given to the graduating class member who contributed most to the preservation and enhancement of loyalty and goodwill between the university and its students, alumni, and friends.
