ZACHARY TANNER is an associate consultant with Public Impact, focused primarily on assisting districts and schools in implementing Opportunity Culture models to extend the reach of excellent teachers and their teams to more students. Before joining Public Impact, he served as a program instructor for the nonprofit Close Up. At Close Up, he designed and oversaw the delivery of issue-based education workshops in and out of the classroom for students in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Before that, Mr. Tanner taught middle school social studies in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he increased students’ learning growth. Mr. Tanner also served as a 2016 Teach for America corps member. He holds a B.A. in political science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University.
