OKEMA OWENS SIMPSON is an associate consultant with Public Impact, focused primarily on leading Opportunity Culture school design and implementation support teams in schools. Before joining Public Impact, Ms. Owens Simpson served as a new teacher support coach with the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program. In this role, she coached a team of teachers within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Cleveland County Schools to use the best instructional practices and pedagogy. She previously served as a multi-classroom leader at Ranson Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she led a team of English teachers to double–digit reading percentile growth each year. Ms. Owens Simpson holds an M.A. in educational leadership from Gardner Webb University and a B.A. in middle school English language arts, and social studies from North Carolina State University.
