Anja Heckert

ANJA HECKERT is a consultant with Public Impact, focused primarily on assisting districts and schools in implementing Opportunity Culture models, which extend the reach of excellent teachers and their teams. Before joining Public Impact, Ms. Heckert served as an instructional coach, providing coaching and feedback, data analysis, and lesson planning support to a cohort of eight math and science teachers at LEAD Academy High School in Nashville, Tennessee. She taught math for three years at LEAD Academy and managed ninth-grade teachers as the grade-level leader for two years. She previously served as a Teach For America Corps member in Baltimore City Public Schools where she participated in Project Teach, an action research project designed to transition the school to standards-based grading and assessment. Ms. Heckert holds a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.S. in economics and a B.A. in international studies from the University of Washington.
